Our commitment to your future success begins the day you enter our doors. KIPP Forward is a dedicated support system that follows students from middle school through high school and for six years after they leave CPHS, ensuring they have the resources to navigate higher education and early careers.
Whether a student is pursuing a four-year degree, a professional certification, or entering the workforce, they are never alone. Our alumni have access to 1:1 advisement from "near-peer" mentors, intensive career coaching, and emergency financial microgrants.

The key to our success is our investment in our students. While many high school campuses across the city provide only one college advisor for the entire student body, CPHS maintains a 1:65 ratio of college and career advisors per student. This ensures that every Bulldog receives the personalized, consistent guidance necessary to secure a seat at the table of their choice.
The Roadmap: Intentional Preparation
Our in-house College & Career team prepares you for the journey starting in the 9th grade. We provide a structured, credit-bearing curriculum for every grade level to ensure no student is left to navigate their future alone.
9th Grade
Careers with Purpose
Students are encouraged to explore their passions, values, and interests, through our "Careers with Purpose" course, identifying how their unique strengths align with future career paths.
10th Grade
Exploring Interests
Academic rigor meets real-world application as students begin deeper dives into specialized areas of interest, community service, early SAT prep and college research.
11th Grade
College & Career Readiness
A high-stakes year focused on the "toolbox" for success, including SAT prep, career exploration, resume writing, drafting personal statements, mastering the elevator pitch, and exploring postsecondary options with on-campus trips and integrated technology tools.
12th Grade
Senior Counseling
Individualized counseling is the hallmark of the senior year. Students receive one-on-one support through the entire application, financial aid, and decision-making process. We arrange for 100+ college admissions officers to visit our campus each fall.

Years 1-2: Building Your Foundation
Near-peer College Success Fellows—CPHS alumni themselves—meet you where you are, right near campus, for in-person support, routine check-ins, and 1:1 coaching on academics, finances, mental health, and career planning through our Persistence Benchmarks. College sophomores then level up in the Wayfinders program with personalized career diagnostics, resume and LinkedIn builds, mock interviews, networking skills, and exclusive access to vetted internships via our Alumni Career Center and partners like Braven and Backrs.
Years 3-6 and Beyond: Finishing Strong
Innovative NERA tech advising keeps the momentum with nudge texts delivering academic, financial, and career resources, plus on-demand sessions, emergency funding, mental health support, and a constantly updated job board—ensuring you finish strong, whether in college, CTE, or your first big role.
